Why is the character of my sister always being questioned?

Why can't a woman marry for love? be outspoken? speak intelligently? be strong? have pride? i am growing tired of the animosity she is getting from every direction. She is her own person, with her own capable mind. If that poses such a predicament to all how chose to pay so much attention to the chronicles of my family, perhaps they should turn the microscope upon themselves, and shed light on wether or not they make decisions  for themselves as my sister does. Are all of you truly happy?

  1. My dear Jane, I completely agree with what you are saying about marrying for love and happiness. Though we did not work out, I wish for your happiness and the rest of your sisters happiness as well. I feel Lizzie made the right decision for denying Mr. Darcy. Especially with how he was so prejudice towards her in the beginning when he first met her.

  2. Thank you Jane for standing up for what I beleive in. I have received so much hatred for refusing a perfectly agreeable mans hand in marriage. My actions speak for what I beleive in and that is love. No marriage should be built souly on the fact that he can support you or help you inherit a fortune that would be given to someone else otherwise. A marriage should be for love and if no one man agrees with that then so be it that I will be single the rest of my life.
